DESCRIPTION:Join us live for day one of NAN’s 41st Keewaywin Conference: Live Stream \n\n\n\nAgenda: 41st Keewaywin Conference Agenda 2023 \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPlease be advised that the 41st Annual Keewaywin Conference has been confirmed for August 15\, 16 & 17\, 2023.  \n\n\n\nThis conference will take place at the Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Centre. \n\n\n\nThe by-election for the position of Grand Chief of Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) has been called for August 16\, 2023 during the 2023 Keewaywin Conference. \n\n\n\nCONFIRMATIONS/REGISTRATION Registration is now open Chiefs/Proxies are asked to complete a registration form to confirm his/her attendance on the link provided here: 41st Keewaywin Conference  \n\n\n\nPROXIES If you are unable to attend\, a proxy may be sent. Proxy notice must be sent in advance on your first nation letterhead and signed by the Chief and Council or a quorum of the Council. This letter will ensure that the proxy has full conference privileges to act on your behalf. The designated proxy should bring the original letter to the meeting. A sample proxy letter is attached. Please send proxy letters to the attention of Grace Winter via email gwinter@nan.ca or by fax (807)623-7730.  \n\n\n\nTRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS Travel will be covered for Chiefs/Proxies. Travel days are Monday August 14\, 2023 and Friday August 18\, 2023. Air travel will be booked by NAN staff or for the use of a personal vehicle; mileage will be covered and based on the NAN rate. As required by NAN Chiefs Finance Committee\, the most economical arrangements will be made to keep the overall costs to a minimum. \n\n\n\nACCOMMODATIONS Accommodations for the Chiefs/Proxies\, Elders\, Women & Youth Councils will be booked by NAN Staff. NAN ELDERS\, NAN  \n\n\n\nWOMEN’S COUNCIL AND NAN YOUTH COUNCIL  \n\n\n\nThe NAN Elders Council\, Women’s Council and the Oshkaatisak (Young Peoples) Council are invited to attend. NAN will cover their travel expenses and accommodations. NAN staff will contact NAN Elders\, Women and Oshkaatisak members directly to register and make arrangement. The nominee must be a member of a Nishnawbe Aski First Nation and/ or employed by a Nishnawbe Aski Nation organization or agency.
