DESCRIPTION:NAN is pleased to announce the upcoming Land-Based Learning Gathering\, which will bring together educators from across Ontario to share knowledge\, experiences\, and promising practices in land-based education. \n\n\n\nThis year’s gathering will be guided by the theme: \n\n\n\nLearning the Language of the Land Bizindan Aki\, Supporting Mental Health and Wellness Through Land-Based Learning \n\n\n\nRegistration coming soon! \n\n\n\nCall for Presenters\n\n\n\n\nPresenter Application Form\n\n\n\n\nCall for Presenters for the Land-Based Learning Gathering! \n\n\n\nWe invite you to share your expertise\, experiences\, and teachings that support the integration of land-based learning in education. \n\n\n\nNishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) will be hosting the annual Land-Based Learning Gathering\, bringing together educators from across Ontario to explore the important role of land-based learning in supporting student success\, identity\, and well-being. \n\n\n\nThis year’s theme\, “Learning the Language of the Land – Bizindan Aki\,” highlights the powerful connection between land-based education and mental health and wellness. The gathering will provide opportunities for educators\, leaders\, and knowledge keepers to share experiences\, teachings\, and promising practices that support the mental\, emotional\, physical\, and spiritual well-being of students through land-based learning. \n\n\n\nThe land has long been recognized as a teacher that offers guidance on balance\, respect\, and living in a good way. Through time spent on the land\, students and educators strengthen connections to culture\, language\, and identity—fostering resilience\, confidence\, and a strong sense of belonging. \n\n\n\nNishnawbe Aski Nation is seeking presentations and workshops that highlight approaches to land-based education and wellness. We welcome proposals that share experiences\, teachings\, and practices that demonstrate how land-based learning can be incorporated into educational settings and support student and community well-being. \n\n\n\nWe encourage submissions from educators\, knowledge keepers\, Elders\, language instructors\, and community\, leaders who are working to strengthen land-based education. \n\n\n\nPresentations may be offered in a variety of formats\, including workshops\, discussions\, demonstrations\, or presentations that share experiences and practical approaches to land-based learning and wellness. \n\n\n\nAdditional information regarding submission guidelines and deadlines will be included in the presenter application form. \n\n\n\nWe look forward to bringing educators together to learn from one another and to continue strengthening land-based learning that supports the wellness of our students\, schools\, and communities. \n\n\n\nPresenter deadline is April 28\, 2026. \n\n\n\n\nPresenter Application Form
