DESCRIPTION:Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity to create meaningful discussion about the truth and legacy of the Indian Residential School system. It is an opportunity for First Nations\, local governments\, schools\, and communities to come together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for generations of children to come.This date was chosen as it was the time of year when First Nations children were taken away from their homes to attend Residential Schools. Today\, it is also an opportunity to establish anti-racism and anti-bullying policies for the coming school year. \n\n\n\nOn September 30 all Canadians are encouraged to join this discussion and build bridges in the spirit of reconciliation.
