Forest fires are threatening several NAN First Nation communities and have forced many members to be evacuated to urban centres.
Accommodations and supports are being coordinated by the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre in partnership with municipalities and other organizations across northern Ontario.
Nishnawbe Aski Nation, Tribal Councils, and other organizations are assisting with the coordination of support for all NAN members who are temporarily relocated
This site will provide updated details on how to access supports and other services for NAN members during their stay in host communities as soon as this information becomes available. This information will also be shared through NAN’s social media.
During your time away from your community we encourage everyone to stay safe and continue to follow local COVID-19 precautions including social distancing, washing your hands, wearing face masks, and only leaving your accommodations when you need to.
