Most First Nations, including NAN communities, are governed by the Indian Act — but that’s changing. By reclaiming jurisdiction over education, our Nations can create and enforce our own laws and policies. This summit is an important step forward.

Who should attend?
We’re inviting 2 representatives per First Nation – including Chiefs, council members, education portfolio holders, or education directors. Tribal Councils may also send 2 delegates. Travel and accommodations will be covered for eligible attendees.

Priority will be given to Chiefs and education portfolio holders. All others will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis unless your community advises otherwise.
