Policy Analyst- Reclamation and Healing

The ideal candidate to fill the position of the Reclamation and Healing Policy Analyst position, will have an in depth understanding and knowledge of the Indian Residential School (IRS) system and the legacy it has left behind. They must be aware of the social impacts and trauma that were inflicted upon Indigenous children who attended these institutions as well as other oppressive policies which affect First Nations’ People. They will need to be familiar with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s (TRCC) 94 Calls to Action, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), as well as the 42 Obligations from Office of the Independent Special Interlocutor. The role of the Policy Analyst is to provide technical support on issues related to the legacy of the IRS system which serves to amplify the voices of NAN First Nations.
