“We Won’t Let Corey Be Forgotten”: Belesky Family Make Public Appeal for Information

THUNDER BAY, ON: Family members of the late Corey Belesky, supported by leaders from Marten Falls First Nation and Nishnawbe Aski Nation, today made a heartfelt public appeal for any information that might lead to an arrest three years after his unexplained passing.

Corey was a kind-hearted, funny, and caring young man who loved his family. He loved animals and was always there to help others. Since his passing, Corey’s family and community have been living with deep pain and uncertainty, struggling to move forward without answers or closure. Every passing year without justice has been a painful reminder of their loss.

On the third anniversary of his passing, his family is once again appealing to anyone who may have information, no matter how small, to come forward. Even the smallest detail could be the missing piece that helps investigators finally solve Corey’s case.

The family is also calling on the Thunder Bay Police Services Board (TBPSB) to approve a reward to encourage tips that could lead to an arrest and help bring justice for Corey. They are asking the Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) to dedicate more officers and resources to the investigation to ensure all leads are pursued and that Corey’s case receives the attention it deserves.

We, Corey’s family, are requesting that the Thunder Bay Police Services Board approve an award to help with Corey’s murder investigation. And we, Corey’s family, are requesting the Thunder Bay Police Service to put more officers without prejudices and more resources into my baby’s investigation.” – Colleen Belesky, mother of Corey Belesky
